Earlier this week we hosted our friends and business partners from China, who traveled almost 9000 kilometers from their hometown Guangzhou all the way to Motovun, just to visit our boutique Hotel Kaštel.
We did our best to make them feel welcome and introduce them to our Croatian culture, and the rich historical and cultural heritage of Istria and Motovun. For this special occasion, experienced chefs of our restaurant prepared some of the best specialties our menu has to offer, mostly those based on fresh truffles found in the nearby Motovun forest, and we served them with some of the typical Istrian homemade products and delicacies.
Their satisfaction and gratitude were expressed by a unique present we received – a traditional saying written in Chinese language, which can be translated as “beauty”, and was made almost 17 centuries ago by one of their most prominent artists and a true master of calligraphy, called Wang Xizhi.
We are proud we had the opportunity to host our friends and partners from far-away China, and we hope to see them again in our beautiful medieval city and our boutique Hotel Kaštel.
