Motovun will host the Veli Jože Festival this week for the fourth time, and special surprise this year is the opening ceremony of the Cultural and Educational Center “Kaštel”, on which will be presented the project “Motovun: History on the Move” on Saturday, June 3, at 6 pm.
This project presents a rich Motovun history for the purpose of preserving the heritage and cultural heritage of Motovun, as well as whole Istria. Look with us through a window that looks two thousand years back, meet some of the most famous people of Motovun, stay under the impression of the Motovun forest and the surrounding nature and listen to some of mythical Istrian myths such as that of Veli Jože – and all this “on the move”.
In this unique historical adventure, find out about the famoust Motovun noble family, the pioneer of music printing that was born in Motovun just like the champion of NASCAR and Formula 1, the history of Istrian peasants and their olive growing, the specific rural Parenzani railway, the famous film festival that brings to Motovun World glory and many other interesting themes and details.
Cultural and educational center “Kaštel” invites you to a pleasant weekend, having fun, to move and enjoy. Enjoy in specially created workshops like presenting how to make flour or participate in making and tasting traditional Istrian pasta and local delicacies.
