The Kaštel Hotel is an exclusive wellness and spa hotel located in the 17th century palace at the very top of medieval Motovun in the heart of Istria.
Almost every window of this fairylike hotel provides a magnificent view of central Istria landscape, the Mirna river valley, memorable vineyards of Motovun. The Hotel features a total of 33 rooms (25 standard, 3 superior, 3 exclusive with a balcony, 2 suites). It can accommodate up to 70 people. Its offer also includes ‘Poli Kaštela’, a separate apartment house as well as modern and technically fully equipped halls for the organization of incentive and recreational activities outdoors.
The Hotel is proud of its a la carte restaurant and its creative cuisine based on the Istrian tradition and Istrian specialities telling a story in the silence of centuries-old chestnut trees of teran and malvasia wines from renowned Motovun vineyards, olive oil, truffles from the Motovun Forest, unique Istrian beef dishes.
In the idyllic atmosphere of the wellness and spa centre, each our guest may enjoy the hydro-massage pool with a beautiful view of the garden and the Istrian landscape, the sauna oasis offering the Finnish sauna, Turkish bath, Kneipp basins, massage shower and the relax room with chromotherapy under starry sky.

Our new project is called the Kaštel Cultural and Educational Centre, which tells a story of Motovun – the History in Motion. We are inviting you to join our workshops of making homemade pasta and bread, the presentation of stone grinding wheat in the old-fashioned mill, the story of the Mirna river, the Motovun Forest, Josef Ressel, Parenzzana, the Motovun Film Festival, Mario Andretti, old tools once used for cultivating Istrian land, a magnificent 6.5 meter tall wooden sculpture of Veli Jože, and much much more…
